Abdul on Millenial Politics: "Abdul El-Sayed is Still Fighting for a Progressive Michigan"
 

Last year, former Detroit Health Department Executive Director Abdul El-Sayed ran one of the most inspiring progressive campaigns of the 2018 midterm cycle. Running on a bold platform of single-payer, clean water, democracy reform, and guaranteed Internet access for all, the Michigan Democrat earned the endorsements of progressives across the nation, including Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Kerri Evelyn Harris, Michael Moore, The Nation, and perhaps most impressive, Danny DeVito. Though he ultimately came short of victory, he earned 342,179 votes – 32,944 more votes than the victor of the previous contested Michigan Democratic gubernatorial primary received…..
